Moving to SiHeung

I officially moved to SiHeung (my new city) on February 27th.  I was originally going to take possession of my apartment on the 27th and move everything from Yeoju on February 28th.  However, my old school messed up and they rented out my apartment before I was moved out.  Which is illegal because they are supposed to provide me with an apartment until February 29th, which is end of contract.  I had told them that I was going to move on the 28th back in January, when they asked about it.  They knew but they messed up.  Their mess-up though helped me, they were so desperate to get me out of the apartment, that they willingly paid for the moving truck to SiHeung for me, which saved me about $100.  I was extremely stressed on February 27th, because of that though.  Things seemed rushed, and I was desperately ill on top of moving.  It was not fun but it got done.

Before the move, I was in SiHeung for a work meeting and dinner, and thought it would be good to clean my new apartment.  In Korea, the old tenants do not have to clean the apartment before they move (goes back to trying to distract the spirits from following you) and the landlord does not always have to clean the apartment either, so it was up to me to clean up.  I wasn't thinking it was going to be too difficult or that bad, to be honest.  HOWEVER, the apartment was disgusting.  I feel like the girl I took over from NEVER cleaned the apartment.  It was so dusty and dirty.  Old food stains, grease, the bathroom used up two things of cleaner.  It was horrible.  Despite the horribleness of the apartment, Mom and I cleaned it really well.  It looks like a new apartment.  I only have one thing left to clean, but I need a ladder to clean it, so I will have to hire someone to do that for me.  But everything else is clean and live-able now.

Additionally, I have unpacked everything and it is slowly coming together.  I still need to purchase a television and stand, and do some minor things around the house but it is looking good.  More to come on the new apartment (with pictures!).
