Things Students Say...2

Part 2!  This week has been kind of uneventful for things students say but my teachers have been filling the gap.  So this week is going to be a special addition of Things Students Say: Things Teachers Say.

This week we had about 15 to 20 American teachers and student teachers at our school for an international something or another.  Anyways.  On the last day of their stay a teacher I was talking to said the following:

T:  All of those teachers could use some exercise and lay off the donuts in the teachers room.

It was funny because she was coming from an honest and sweet position but for Westerners it is strange because you don't comment on peoples weights.  She wasn't trying to be mean and I didn't take it that way.

After lunch, we were discussing the flowers a teacher had gotten for her birthday and deciding if they were from her boyfriend.  The following happened between a male and female teacher.

MT:  I am envious of you both (the birthday girl and myself) because you have many boyfriends.  You (Kara) have many, right?
Me:  No!!!  Hahaha
FT:  Oh no, you (male teacher) have many boyfriends.
MT:  Wait, what?!  NO!  I am a man!
FT:  Sure...walks away.

It was super cute!  Got to love it!

I ate lunch with the Science teacher today and he said 맛있게드세요 (Enjoy your meal), which I said back to him.  Well the following happened between him and a girl student from his homeroom.  (All in Korean btw)

Student:  Why did you say that?  Kara teacher doesn't understand.  You should say it in English.
Teacher:  Yes she does, she said it back.  (In English)  Enjoy your meal.

It was hilarious.

Though this next picture is not related to teachers, it was too funny to pass up.  After being out in the fields before English class, the students were exhausted.  Apparently, this one in particular.  He took off his shoes and shirt (he had an undershirt on) and decided to sleep on the floor.  However, from my point of view it looks like someone was murdered in my classroom.
