As most of you know, I went on a mini-tour of Korea. I went to a few cities on the West Coast and had a very relaxing 5 days. It was wonderful. The first leg of my tour started in Incheon. Incheon is a port city and holds the international airport, but most importantly Incheon has Koreas only Chinatown!!! Which is really why I went. Here are various photos from my day spent in Incheon.
We arrived at sunset, it was really calm and beautiful.
This was a neat little water garden that we happened upon when we first got there. Super pretty.
I was so excited about the cats!
I am as scary as a dragon! GIRR!
I am an emperor.
Ji Hoon was stuffed from our crazy dinner! He looked pregnant.
The zodiac, of course!
Rabbit anyone?!
He is a monkey, 1980! Ha.
By far the best part of Chinatown wasn't the history or the beautiful side streets, it was the FOOD! We went to a restaurant that served some semi-traditional Chinese dishes and Korean Chinese dishes. Obviously, it is not authentic but it was still good and something I had been missing. Korean Chinese is not the same!
Sweet and Sour Pork (more sweet than sour)
Mixed Seafood Soup (it was good but had sea cucumber in it)
Chicken in Garlic Sauce (I was so happy when I got this dish!)
Beef with Green Peppers (It was spicy but oh so good!)
The meal wouldn't be complete without some 짬뽕 (Jjamppong) and 자장면 (Jajangmyeon). Wouldn't be Korea without Korean Chinese, which is basically just Korean food wanting to be Chinese. It is a lie! Ha!
During the meal, Ji Hoon decided to eat the red peppers from the Chicken in Garlic Sauce. I thought he was crazy and only wanted to take a picture of the peppers to put on the blog. Well he decided it was a challenge and put them all in his mouth. He ate them all at once, because he is crazy! But his faces are priceless!
After we finished walking around Chinatown, we went back to our hotel and rested. Obviously the only way you can in Korea, with facial masks!
